3 ways to visit the Harvey B Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture for free

If you are a Charlotte, NC local or visiting the city, I strongly encourage you to visit the Harvey B Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture. The center hosts multiple exhibits, events and workshops and the newest addition - a digital arts studio.

Here are 3 ways you can check it out with free entry:

1 - Sign up to receive the center’s newsletter announcing upcoming events, workshops and exhibits.

2 - If you are a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch client or customer, use your credit or debit card to gain access the first weekend of every month. Employees may use their employee ID. This program is called Museums on Us and is available for various places/cities across the United States. Here’s a list of other Bank of America Museums on Us located in Charlotte, NC with free access the first weekend of the month:

  • Mint Museum Uptown

  • Mint Museum Randolph Rd

  • Bechtler Museum of Modern Art

***Check the Bank of America website for more.

3 - Check the admissions page to see if there is free admission before your planned visit. Recently, the museum had a free entry period in between exhibits.

Even on a regular day, the entry free is nominal ($7-9 and free for kids 5 and under) so I encourage you to support the arts & culture!
